Simple steps to stay safe

Spams and scams are everywhere, or so it seems these days. From scam phone calls to unsolicited letters to incessant text messages, it's a challenge to know what's true. Here are some scenarios and my advice on the best course of action to take.

The text message from an unknown number offering you a free SEO report for your website, with a link and welcoming message.

Advice: Delete the text message. If you want a SEO evaluation of your website, contact Web Bro for a thorough evaluation. We use Google Search Console and Analytics to see what visitors are searching for and relevant keywords that gain you traction online.

A letter arrives saying your domain name is expiring.

Advice: Be wary of unexpected expiration notices. Contact Web Bro with questions about your domain name. You can lookup basic domain information on Whois.com for any domain name. Domains need to be renewed each year, or you can pay for multiple years at a time. If your domain expires, your website and related services will go dark. If it is not renewed before the end of the grace period, it could be registered by someone else.
